CommunityScape is a platform that helps individuals and organizations organize, share, and discover knowledge about themselves and literally anything and everything else. Members create hubs, share topics and resources, connect with trusted communities, and make valuable information easier for others to find.
What makes a CommunityScape Bio different?
Your CommunityScape bio is designed to go far beyond a typical social media profile. Instead of just a short description about yourself, your bio acts as a personal hub that helps others understand who you are, how to connect with you, and what you care about most.
We’ve created several sections that allow you to present yourself in a more meaningful and useful way:
About You
This is where you can share your story, interests, experiences, and what matters most to you.
Think of this as your chance to go beyond a short bio and give others a better understanding of who you are, what you're passionate about, and what kinds of ideas or topics excite you.
How to Engage
This section helps others understand the best ways to interact with you.
You can share things like:
• Topics you enjoy discussing
• Ways you like to collaborate
• Questions people can ask you about
• Areas where you’re open to helping others
It helps remove the awkwardness of introductions by giving people clear ways to start meaningful conversations.
Links
Add any websites or resources that help people learn more about you or the things you’re involved in.
This might include:
• Personal websites
• Projects you’ve created
• Organizations you support
• Interesting resources you recommend
Social Media
If you'd like, you can connect your social profiles so people can continue the conversation or follow your work elsewhere.
This keeps everything organized in one place while still allowing you to connect across platforms.
Documents & Files
This unique feature allows you to share files that help people better understand what you do or what you care about.
For example, you might share:
• Presentations
• Guides or research
• Articles you’ve written
• Helpful documents for your community
It’s a way to share deeper knowledge directly within your profile.
Why this matters
CommunityScape bios are built to help people connect with more depth and clarity.
Instead of just showing a profile picture and a short description, your bio can become a place where others can truly understand your interests, ideas, and how they can interact with you.
In short, your bio becomes a gateway for better conversations, stronger connections, and meaningful collaboration.
A Topic is a subject or area of knowledge that you want to organize or share with others. Topics help group related resources together so members can easily learn about a specific subject.
To follow someone, visit their Hub and click the heart icon next to their profile picture. Once added to your trusted community, you’ll have easier access to their topics and resources.
Yes. CommunityScape is designed for both individuals and organizations. Organizations can use it to organize knowledge, share information with their communities, and connect people to helpful topics and resources.
Yes, but it's in BETA mode. If you'd like to add that feature, please reach out at hello@communityscape.life.(mailto:hellp@communityscape.life) CommunityScape allows members to create a website directly from their Hub. This feature helps individuals and organizations share their information, topics, and resources publicly in a simple and organized way.
This depends on your visibility settings and teams. You can choose to share your topics and resources publicly, privately, or only with specific teams.
You can use the search feature to find people, topics, resources, and organizations related to what you want to learn about.
CommunityScape focuses on organizing and sharing meaningful knowledge. Instead of endless feeds, members build hubs that store valuable topics and resources that can help others learn, grow, and connect.
CommunityScape offers plans designed to support individuals, organizations, and growing communities. Each plan allows different levels of features and access.
Heart Icon (Save Feature) – The heart icon allows you to save and organize important people and content on CommunityScape. When the heart appears next to a member’s profile picture, clicking it adds that person to your Trusted Community. When it appears next to a resource, clicking it saves that resource to your Topics for easy access later. This feature helps you keep track of the people and information that matter most to you.
Help Profiles are special profiles created by the CommunityScape team to help new members learn how to use the platform.
When you first join CommunityScape, a few of these profiles may automatically appear in your Trusted Community. They’re there to give you examples of how profiles can be set up and how different features can be used.
Each Help Profile may demonstrate things like:
• How to write a strong About You section
• Examples of How to Engage with someone
• How to add links, social media, and documents to your profile
• How to organize and share information you care about
Think of Help Profiles as interactive guides. Instead of reading instructions, you can simply explore their profiles to see how CommunityScape works.
These profiles are clearly labeled and are not real individuals. They exist purely to help you get comfortable using the platform.
You can keep them in your Trusted Community while learning, or remove them at any time.
Topic Covers are one of the most important ways to showcase your interests and knowledge on CommunityScape. They visually represent what matters most to you, so creating a clean and engaging cover can make a big impact.
Recommended Sizes:
• Standard size: 385 x 600 pixels
• High-quality (recommended): 594 x 1080 pixels
Using the larger size will give you a sharper, more polished look—especially on modern screens.
How to create your own Topic Cover using Canva:
1. Open Canva and select “Create a Design”
2. Click “Custom Size”
3. Enter either 385 x 600 px or 594 x 1080 px
4. Start with a blank canvas and design your cover however you’d like
• Add colors that represent your topic
• Include text, icons, or images
• Keep it simple and easy to recognize
1. Download your design and upload it as your Topic Cover on CommunityScape
Pro Tip:
Clear, simple designs with bold visuals tend to stand out the most and make your topics easier for others to recognize and explore.
At CommunityScape, we intentionally use the words Topics and Resources to mirror how people naturally learn and share knowledge.
A Topic is like a subject or category—something you care about, want to explore, or want others to understand more deeply. Think of it the same way you would in school: a central idea that everything else builds around.
Resources are the pieces of content that support that Topic. These can include videos, links, images, audio, documents, and more—anything that helps explain, expand, or showcase that Topic.
Example:
If your Topic is Basketball, your Resources might include:
• Videos of professional gameplay
• Tutorials on dribbling and shooting
• Links to organizations like the NBA
• Audio clips explaining techniques
• Documents with tips, drills, or strategies
Together, your Resources help others better understand and engage with your Topic.
Can a Topic be personal, not just educational?
Absolutely.
Topics don’t have to be traditional “subjects.” They can also represent you.
For example, you might create a Topic about yourself that includes:
• Photos or videos
• Audio introductions
• Your resume or personal documents
• Links that represent your interests or work
This allows others to experience your story, personality, and knowledge all in one place.
What’s the bigger idea behind this structure?
CommunityScape is designed to help you organize and share your world in one place.
By using Topics and Resources, you’re not just posting content—you’re building meaningful collections of knowledge, experiences, and ideas that others can easily explore and learn from.
It’s your way of saying: “Here’s what I know, what I love, and what I want to share.”
Connections are trusted Hubs linked to your organization—such as Curators, Participants, and Sponsors—who support, contribute to, and help strengthen your mission; this feature is available exclusively on the Convene plan.
This is how each Connection type is defined:
Curators
Curators are trusted Hubs responsible for maintaining the quality, accuracy, and relevance of our content. They play a key role in ensuring that information remains up to date and aligned with our standards.
Participants
Participants are actively engaged Hubs who contribute their time, skills, and efforts to help advance our mission and vision on a daily basis.
Sponsors
Sponsors are supporting Hubs that provide valuable resources—such as funding, tools, or strategic support—to help sustain and grow our organization.
